Former UCLA striker and 2012 Pac-12 Player of the Year Zakiya Bywaters went No. 1 overall in the 2013 National Women’s Soccer League draft on Jan. 18. She became the second Bruin to go first overall in pro women’s soccer in two years, with Sydney Leroux going first overall in the 2012 Women’s Professional Soccer draft.
